"One of underground digital cinema’s best-kept secrets: a prankster punk, an ass-kicking rebel priest." — Olaf Moeller, Film Comment
After its UK premiere in Edinburgh International Film Festival, guess where Mondomanila’s headed to next?
New Horizons International Film Festival in Poland where it will compete in the main competition section
After Poland, it will be screened out of competition in Mumbai, India (for Osian’s-Cinefan, Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema) where I’m also premiering two other films: the feature Breather and the short film Ruined Heart, which competed early this year at the Berlinale.
The final stop for Mondomanila, at least for now: Fantasia Fest, North America’s most important genre film festival. I’m quite excited about Fantasia Fest because not only is Mondomanila competing in the main section, it’s also been chosen as the Opening Film of the Camera Lucida section. I had a look at the films in their line-up, and it’s a mad, mad, mad selection. Mondomanila is in great company!
You can check out the other films in Fantasia Fest’s 2012 lineup here.
